Conner, age 76, of Gatlinburg, passed away January 13, 2007. He was the owner and operator of LeConte Vista Campground since 1968. Robert was a member of First Baptist Church Gatlinburg and the Gatlinburg Elk Lodge. He was also a member of American Legion Post 202 for over 50 years. Mr. Conner was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his parents Lum Conner and Winnie Ogle Conner, and brother, Newell Conner. Survivors: Wife: Mary Webb Conner Son: Tim Conner Daughter and son-in-law: Karen Ballentine and husband Dave Grandchildren: Megan Trentham and husband Wesley, Chelsey and Caroline Conner and their mother Beth Conner, Claire Ballentine Brother-in-law and sister-in-law: David and Ann Webb Several nieces and nephews Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Gatlinburg, 111 Oglewood Lane, Gatlinburg, Tennessee, 37738, and the Gatlinburg Elk Lodge BPOE #1925 Shoe Fund , 968 Parkway Suite #7, Gatlinburg, Tennessee, 37738. Funeral service 7 PM Monday in the West chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Burcham officiating. Interment 11 AM Tuesday in Smoky Mountain Memory Gardens.
